VERSE:
Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if
they can save you when you are in trouble! For you have as many gods as you
have towns, O Judah.

THOUGHT:
Money? Power. Freedom? How about
ourselves? Success? Our ego, or ID? What is it that drives
us? Where is the focus in our life? How is it that we divide our
time up? So many questions, yet they point to one thing, what is truly
important to us? Who is it, or what is it that is our god? Who is
truly lord of your life?
Hear the Good News, Christ came
for us, and with his arrival brought to us a focus for our life.
Simply put, love the Lord your God with all your might soul and strength, and
love you neighbor as yourself. To love God, we respond to God through
prayer, praise, service and worship. This is how we make God our Lord.
When we love our neighbor as ourselves, we are saying thank you to God and
praising Him for creation, for we were created in His image. Not to
mention what Jesus did for your neighbor too. In order to Love you
neighbor, you must start with yourself. Take some time today and look at
the things you do well. If you don't know, ask someone that will be
honest with you, ask me or ask a family member. Why not ask God.
Of the possible focus points in
our life, God is the only focus point that will be there with you always.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, of the many
false gods that are crowded into my world, I want You, my true God, to be my
focus. Help me be faithful to You and allow me to have my life be a
reflection of You and Your presence. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
