VERSE:
I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in
righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in
faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the LORD.

THOUGHT:
Being betrothed, not much of a practice in this, the 21st
Century. None the less, well al know something about it. Fairy
tales, movies (Coming to America) and perhaps most memorably, the story of
Mary and Joseph. If you look into each situation, there seems to be
a level of resistance in each. Even today, this is the reason we choose
to date whom we choose. That is of course unless you are set up on a
blind date. The reason, it seems, for our apprehension in relying on a
relationship someone else places before you is, well, you don't know what
you're going to get. Fear, was/is probably the ultimate reason. We
like to know what we are going to get, and further we want to be able to say
yea, or nay.
But hear the Good News, we do
know what we are going to get with God. More over, it seems God is the
one taking a chance on us. We are not the perfect "date" the
perfect spouse(except of course my Amy). God longs to be in a
relationship so much, he gives His only Son so we might be able to enter into
a relationship with Him. When you search your heart, it will be hard
pressed to find anyone that has or will do such a thing for you. I God
you have a keeper! Therefore, if God would do such a thing for us, what
is it that we can do in response? The question may be mine, the answer
is yours!
PRAYER:
Dear heavenly Father, God of compassion, please give me a more
forgiving and sensitive heart. In addition, dear Father, please give me a
faithful heart that will not stray from the pledges and vows I have made to
you and to others. In Jesus' name I pray.Amen.
