VERSE:
[A]nd said to them, "whoever welcomes this child in my name
welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the
least among all of you is the greatest.

THOUGHT:
One of the most common office cartoons have Dilbert being
berated by his office manager. It seems Dilbert is a refection of
how so many office people may feel. Unfortunately, that means there are
a lot of people in management positions that treat subordinates poorly.
This passage suggests another type of leadership.
Hear the Good News, when we
interact with others, we represent not only ourselves, but those who have sent
us too. Your children, they are going to be reflections of your love and
peace, or even the lack thereof. Your co-workers, the same thing.
You reflect many of the same positions and values that your friends adhere to.
When we interact, we do so out of our own experience and what we have learned
out of those experiences.
My question is this, what and
who do you reflect? Grace, Love, Peace? What and who do you want
to reflect? Christ's presence in your life?
PRAYER:
Almighty and wonderful God, let me be a mirror of Your presence.
Help me to share and sow Your presence, even when that is not what is passed
on to me. Help me to love, to give grace and to have Your peace.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
