Verse:

"And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20 (NRSV)

Thought:

Just like any other day, it begins with waking up and, more or less, greeting the day. There may be little differences between this day and the next, but they are all very similar, if not the same. What happens between the waking up in the morning and the sleep in the night is what gives each day it's own identity. And it is in each day that we have the opportunity to meet and greet Christ.

Hear the Good News, Christ is with us each day. As the promise has been given to us, and as His Spirit dwells within us, we have the unique ability and opportunity to see God in the word. Even though we may know this and understand this, it is more often the case that we do not look for or recognize God's presence in our midst, unless. . .. The unless is that moment that jars our memory or refocuses our attention to God. Trouble, hurt and pain are some of the more infamous "refocusers", while prayer, worship and celebration offer "less painful" moments of focus. The fact remains He is there, He is here, the most consistent element in our life. Lets not overlook God.

Prayer:

Gracious Father in heaven, You are everywhere. You surround me, embrace me and strengthen me. In the midst of all of this, I still lose sight of all You do and what You are about. I forget. Forgive my self-interest and forgetfulness of who You are and what You are about. Open my eyes to Your presence around me today, and let my focus always be on You. Thank You for all You have done and all You will continue to do, for I ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
