Verse:
“LORD, You were favorable to Your land; You restored the fortunes of Jacob.”
Thought:
Casey did not want to clean her room. "It's too messy" "Honey, that's why we need to clean it."
The words, "It's too hard", came from her mouth. Then I will help. It was truly a powerful conversation
we shared. It was not nearly as deep for her as it was for me. The task was too much, overwhelming to a 3
year-old. To me, the job was about 10 minutes. The room has gradually become messier and messier because
Casey is not the one doing the cleaning regularly, it has been someone else, until now. The job, in her mind
was huge and she did not feel like she could it herself. Have you ever been somewhere in your life when you
looked around only to find you were at a place that was bigger than you?
Hear the Good News, even though our life is bigger than we all are, we have someone who is there to aid and
guide us. Through Jesus Christ, we are led along life's journey to the place we need to be. The Psalmist
tells of a relationship between Heaven and Earth in Ps 85. "Faithfulness will spring up from the Earth and
righteousness will look down from the sky."(v.11) This is the relationship we have with God. What He asks
and needs from us is simple faithfulness. Doing what we ought to be doing and trusting in His presence. This
means we realize we do not have all the answers and when we insist on trying to take control, it is like trying
to grab water with our bare hands, the tighter we grab the faster we lose our grasp. But out of our faithful
response, God returns with righteousness, with justice, with control.
And it just gets better. We have a promise, in Jesus Christ, that He does and will lead the way to faithfulness
and righteousness(v.13). There are so many choices for our life, let our current choice be Christ. Let our life
be one of faith, that we might not lose sight of where we are, where we have been or where we are going.
Prayer:
Gracious God, You allow me to lift up my life and soul to you and in return you offer hope. Thank You. Draw me nearer to to You, strengthening my faith as I continue on my journey. Thank You for all You have done and all You continue to do. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Grace & Peace
