VERSE:
[From inside the fish Jonah prayed...] "In my distress
I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I
called for help, and you listened to my cry."
-- Jonah 2:2, New International Version

THOUGHT:
Jonah, like us so often made a mistake. He was disobedient,
rebellious, selfish, sound familiar? In the midst of this
"phase" he ran from God, right into the belly of the fish. It
seems, in a way similar to the prodigal son, when he came to his senses, he
sought help from God.
Hear the Good News, even at our
darkest times, we can seek the Lord, and God will be there for us.
Jonah had run from the Lord. He had shunned the Lord's call on his life.
Yet even in the middle of his rebellion, God heard his cry and delivered him.
PRAYER:
Holy and righteous Father, please forgive me of my mistakes,
enable me to move beyond that point in my life. In your Grace, dear
Father, please lead me to someone who needs to know of your grace and
redemption. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
