Thought:
Precious
and unaware is the child in the arms of the minister as he or she is
baptized. With eyes looking upward, flashing from the minister, to
the parents and then to the congregation.
What is going on, why am I wet? Is it time for my bath? The
thoughts of an infant or child.
Hear the Good News, When
we are baptized, our life become different, who we are and who we are to
be, it changes, all for the better. This Sunday we will be baptizing
a young girl and her mother, receiving both into the church.
What God has in store for the
both of them, who knows, what we do know is that His presence will be
with the both of them, all their life. Now, about yours.
Do you remember your baptism? Have you realized all that He has done
in your life?
The last
part of the passage,
with
fire, here is a parting shot. John baptized with water, it washes
the surface, but fire, it cleanses and purifies through and through.
Remember you baptism and be thankful.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
By
water, and by fire you come to us. Gracious Father, help
me to realize all I am to be and all I am to do.
Graciously You have received
even me. Help me to remember and
receive those who come to me. Thank
You Father, for all You have done in my life and all You will continue to do.
Amen.
