E-votional
– The Next
Day
February 26,
2001
Verse:
Thought:
True,
it was indeed one of the strangest sights in the Gospel, in the New
Testament for that matter. Jesus was changed, transformed before the
very eyes of John, James and Peter. Not only that, but I imagine, James,
John and Peter too experienced a change within themselves. They had seen
the Jesus in His his Glory. Then, they returned to the rest of the
world. For that split second, for the rest of that day, the day of the
transfiguration, they were caught up in the moment. But it was the next
day that speaks so clearly to us all.
Hear the Good News, as
Jesus works
in our life, we will truly be lifted up, our countenance will change, our
enthusiasm will be remarkable, and our lives will have a great direction.
Then we will encounter the great crowds in our life. As long as we
retain our focus, the focus of what God is doing in our life, as long as we remain
open the the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our life, no crowd will
discourage us. We can and will
amaze people, even the doubters, as we are faithful and open to the activity
of God in our life.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You
for the mountain
top experiences in my life. Being
on the mountain top is so unbelievable. But then, I have to walk down
and I find myself with the crowds, all calling me in different directions.
Please, keep my eyes and ears focused to You. Allow Your presence
in my life to dominate my life. Then, free me to live joyfully,
fulfilling Your calling of me. Thank
You for all You have done in my
life, and all You will continue to do, through Christ our Lord I pray.
Amen.
