Verse:

"for we walk by faith, not by sight."

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NRSV)

Thought:

Preparation, this is what is going on and taking place for each of us. In John, Jesus tells the Disciples he is talking care of everything, preparing a place for us. Though they did not know what this house would look like, "where" it would be, or even what it would look like like, they had faith. Their walk was about to become different, without the physical presence of their teacher, their friend, their savior, yet they continued on. They walked by faith, all based on a promise.

Hear the Good News, our journey, our walk in life will never be without challenge, yet you, we, will always be supported and helped by the Holy Spirit. If the challenges of life left us, the truth is we would be weird. This would mean those things of the world had numbed us and anesthetized us into a stupor. We would then be the person who was blinded by the work and presence of God in our life right then and there. When challenges come our way, it is a chance and opportunity to see God victorious, but this happens when we, "walk by faith, not by sight."

Prayer:

Gracious God, so tempted am I to focus on what You have done instead of watching what You are doing, today. The blessings, they surround me, but often I am so caught up and focused on what I have already seen that I miss what is here and now. Let me recognize You always. Allow me to enjoy what You have done, but to also embrace the faith that has been given to me, as a gift, walking by faith, and not relying on sight. Thank You for all that You have done in my life and all You will continue to do, for ask this through Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
