E-votional – Our Father!
June 5, 2001
Verse:

"Father, hallowed by Your name.  Your Kingdom come.  Give us each day our daily bread.  And forgive our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.  And do not bring us into the time of trial."
- Luke 11:2-4 (NRSV)

Thought:
Getting started is much more difficult than maintaining.  For more than two weeks I have not been running.  There was a time when I would run for an hour at a time, 5 days a week.  This was less than a year ago.  Now I look for that opportunity to get started again, to do it right and to do it regularly.  The doing is not what is difficult, it is the getting started.
Hear the Good News, when we want get started with God, the answer is within the pages of the Book of God.  Jesus reaching out to the disciples answered the common question, "how is it that we pray?"  The rest, He left up to the disciples, as well as the people who might come later. When is always a question that I like to answer.  "When do I pray?"  Why not first thing in the morning?  Set your focus for the day, personally I know God to be better than any cup of coffee!

Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and and the glory forever.   Amen.

P.S.  Jeff, every time I say this prayer I want to thank you for singing it!  It is and was the most awesome.  Thanks buddy, love you!
