– Oh,
To Hear Again
April 3,
2001
Verse:
Thought:
Quietly
she calls in a language possibly even she does not know. A series of
coos, squacks, laughs and cries. As a father or a mother, we must stop
doing what we are doing to go and see, to answer the calling. Then, as
we turn the corner or look over the crib, the look of distress, changes to
the largest, most joyous smile, one could ever hope to see. The
request is answered and met with a reward all of it's own.
Hear the Good News, throughout
our life, we are privy to many calls and requests in our life. As we
have answered the various callings,
each is met with different rewards. God's
calling is a calling to reach out to others. To share our faith
and to make a difference in the world. What is your calling today?
How will you answer it?
Prayer:
The
phone rings and we stop what we are doing to answer it. If we miss the
call, we check our voice message or answering machine, yet Father, when you
call, sometimes we do ignore Your voice. At times we are so focused on
the outer world that we can't even hear You. It is my prayer that
I am able to redirect my focus to You, that I am able to hear and respond to
You. Thank
You for all You have done in my
life, and all You will continue to do, through Christ our Lord I pray.
Amen.
