Verse:
“So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.”
Thought:
Problems come with life.
The more you live, the more you experience, and the same goes with
problems. Where you feel lacking or even overwhelmed, it is easy to not
only feel the weight of the issue, but to feel as though you are being
crushed, suffocated or broken. You are not alone, this is a universal occurrence,
we all experience these moments, yet the difference relies in our observation,
reaction and result. Challenges present opportunity, problems present
frustration.
Hear the Good News, Christ calls us to see situations in our life and respond to
them, not as problems, but opportunities, knowing full well that God is involved in all things.
Even Paul, as he writes to the church in Galatia, admonishes the church to hold fast to the Gospel
and to it's faith. The church was, at this point, turning to something that felt good, was
easier and without challenge or internal conflict. They were failing to see God's activity in their
very midst. Yet, as they came to know Christ, it was the Holy Spirit dwelling within them that
led them in their life and enabled them to reach out to others. You see, it is the opportunities
in life which allow us to share the Fruits of the Spirit within the world, problems drive us to
forget and abandon these Fruits.
Prayer:
Gracious God, each day is a blessing, and for that I thank You. You place before me so many wonderful opportunities to reach out in service to the world in Your name. Continue to inspire and empower me I pray. Thank You for all you have done in my life and all you will continue to do, for I come to You through Jesus Christ, my Lord, my Savior! Amen.
