E-votional Freedom Under Christ
June 27, 2001
Verse:

"God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons."
- Galatians 4:4-5 (NIV)

Thought:
Slavery.  Oh how many different forms we live with.  Enslavement to the body.  Are we enslaved to our jobs?  How many are enslaved or were enslaved as they lived at home?  Our body, jobs, even the house we live in our grew up in were filled with the term or reality of "Do This".  In homes they are chores and/responsibilities, in the workplace they might be deadlines, with our body, as in my present case, get rest and take care of yourself otherwise you will get sick.  For the last couple of days, I have been enslaved by my body.  Quarantined from holding my daughter or wife, stuck in the house with a head that is filled more with clouds than with complete thoughts, I fight to be freed.  Freedom never looked so good.
Hear the Good News, before we new Christ, our lives were a struggle against the world, against our own self, but through Christ the clouded thoughts that direct our very being become clear, concise and liberating.  Struggling with the virus that has invaded my sinuses, moving slower and not recognizing much of the beauty around me is in fact difficult.  Yet, I know, and I have hope that in the days to come I will know the freedom of wellness.  And just we struggle during those times when we struggle within our own faith, relish in the fact and knowledge that through Christ we will and do know the freedom of life.

Prayer:
My Soul Keeper, Redeemer and Creator, You are there to watch after me and to free me from the prisons I find myself in.  Knowing that we cannot live as slaves, You free us, keep us and direct us.  For this I give You my thanks.  Please, as I find myself imprisoned by my body, vocation or even spirit, bring to me freedom and health.  Let my health be used to share Your message throughout the world and Your Creation.  Thank you Father, for all You have done and all You will continue to do in my life.  Amen.
